The husband has finally completed IFS and will be beginning API (think, lots of studying) on Tuesday. We are trying to enjoy our time together this weekend just relaxing and being with each other before he gets in the full swing of things. I’m so excited for him and this next part of his journey to become a pilot.
I know this next phase will mean a lot of “alone” time for me, but I have a feeling it will make me more productive. I don’t ever want to do a whole lot when he’s home, just because I like soaking up my time with him (lets be honest, we had a lot of time to catch up on)! It will give me a lot of time to get organized around here though, and boy could we use it! I thought we were organized with things when we moved, and then we got here, and I realized we are not!
My task is to go through everything to weed out the junk and organize what we want to keep. I also need to put all of my teaching stuff into actual tubs, instead of the “boxes” they are currently in. I moved a majority of what I had for teaching (minus some books and a few other materials I left for the teacher taking my spot), so I have quite a bit which is kind of a pain. I know I’ll thank myself in the long run for keeping most of it though, because that means I won’t have to start from scratch all over again. The husband looks at me like I’m nuts when I say that, but I have a feeling he knows I’m right about it, and I’m sure he will thank me too when the time comes!
Another thing I want to work on is redecorating our bedroom. I spent a lot of time making sure our guest rooms were welcoming and beautiful, which meant our room took the backseat in all of the decorating fun. The guest rooms turned out perfect (so much so that I actually just want to spend my time in those rooms instead)! I have high hopes for our bedroom though, I just have to figure out a color scheme! I’ve seen so many beautiful bedrooms (via Pinterest and HGTV) and that has definitely made the choice difficult. I’ll let y’all know what I decide, when I decide though (since I know you’ll be dying to know)!
Anyway, enough about my color scheme dilemma, and on to pictures of the husbands first solo flight! I couldn’t be more proud of this guy!

I had no idea you were doing this. It's a wonderful gift for your kids someday. They'll get a glimpse of what Mom and dad were like when they were young! Miss you and am hoping you'll come to Topeka to visit!
