It’s official- the husband is now allowed to wear his flight suit! On Friday, we celebrated Flight Suit Friday. The guys got to wear their flight suits and show off their class patch (each class gets to design their own patch, and then they each get one to temporarily wear on their suits- they also hang one up at the Officers’ Club). It was fun to celebrate another accomplishment, and to know the husband won’t have any studying to do for a little while.
The next week and a half will be spent doing survival training and physiology, and then he will be switching from NAS Pensacola to Whiting Field in Milton. We planned ahead knowing they would be switching bases, and picked a house in Milton when we moved here. Now, instead of being 45-50 minutes away from work, he will only be about 20 minutes away. I think he’s pretty excited to get to sleep in a little extra, and not have as far to commute each day.
After all the excitement on Friday, we kept it pretty low key and had some of the single guys over for dinner and a game night on Saturday. It was a pretty fun and relaxed night, and Loaded Questions, as usual, was extremely entertaining. Sunday we planned a trip to the beach (since we were over on that side of town) and ended up only staying for about 5 minutes. There are perks to living close to the beach, and one of those perks is that if it’s too chilly, or some aspect of the weather isn’t quite right, we can just leave and come back at another time. The husband said it was a bit cool for shorts and a t-shirt, and I would have loved a sweater, though, there were a ton of people there in swimming suits actually IN the water (crazy people)! We are both very excited for summer to come so we can spend more time on the beach, without being cold (I won’t tell you the actual temperature, as I feel like that would bring some judgement).
We ended the weekend by FaceTiming with our families and catching up with them, which we hadn’t done in awhile. We both enjoy getting to see and talk to them, and it was definitely the best way to finish off another great weekend!
Now, the moment you’ve been waiting for, pictures from FSF!
