Do you ever wish time would just freeze? That you could soak in these days forever? That’s where I’m at in life right now with my sweet baby turning 3. Sure, I also wish we could bypass all of those big toddler feelings (the not so fun ones), but then I’m also aware I’d be missing the big toddler feelings that result in tight hugs around the neck, big smooches, uncontrollable giggles, and a whole lot more fun.
With a big 3 year old in the house now (who changed his mind about wanting to turn 3 when he learned he had to have a check-up), things are never dull. This little boy is so funny, sweet and empathetic. I’ve truly never met a little boy like him (though obviously I’m entirely biased). He’s got so much personality and I see a lot of my family shining through.
I also see his daddy an awful lot in the times when he’s being super silly, going on adventures, building things, or helping others, but also when he’s looking for things he just can’t seem to find (that are typically right in front of him- a note to his future wife: I’m working on it)…
Then there are those times when I’m sure I’ll never survive these toddler years because he’s 100% my child! I’ve heard the stories…I know how it’s going to go. He’s increasingly independent and while it makes me so darn proud, it isn’t always easy! I’ve had to find a whole new level of patience I never even knew I had!
Though those times can be rough, he definitely makes up for it by saying funny things, All. The. Time! I’ve started writing down all the funny things he says and let me tell you, by this time next year, I’ll have a whole book (be sure to keep an eye out for it on Amazon)! Some of my favorite quotes from him so far include:
“Heeeeeeey, Nan! How you doing, baby??” – July 14th, 2020

The husband and I have enjoyed watching Hudson grow so far, and even though we wish time would slow down, we love watching him grow and learn! Getting to be his parents is truly the best! Happy birthday, sweet boy! We love you!
