It’s not very often that I take Hudson to the beach. I know that he loves it, but the amount of work it takes to get him there, keep him safe while we’re there, and then get him all cleaned up is downright exhausting. That’s why we save the beach for “special occasions” in this season of life (i.e. the season of life where the husband isn’t home).
On this specific “special occasion”, we were going to meet up with some friends to take some beach photos while they had some family in town. They had to cancel last minute, but Hudson and I were already at the beach and I had let him venture into the sand before I found out, so we were already committed at that point.
With as much work as it always turns out to be, it’s always worth it when I see how much fun Hudson is having. He’s definitely a beach/water kind of kid. Usually he runs straight for the water, so I was a bit surprised when he took some time to play in the sand. Part of me was hoping he’d forgotten all about the water (because dry sand is MUCH easier to clean off), but alas, he found it. Part of me wanted to stop him (I knew I’d also get wet), but “fun mom” said yes and in we went!
For anyone who knows me, you know that I absolutely hate having wet clothes on (thanks, Dad), so it was a true testament of my love for Hudson. 😉
Since I already had my camera geared up to go, I thought it would be fun to do a photoshoot of Hudson on the beach! I was already planning on taking a few pictures of him, which is why he was dressed so handsomely, but this way I got to spend a bit more time focusing on just him.
Though it was a little daunting cleaning him up afterwards, I’m definitely glad we stayed and had a mini photoshoot! Hudson had an absolute blast and I have pictures (and memories) I know I’ll treasure for years to come.
