Another weekend has come and gone, and the husband is back at work. This weekend was a pretty relaxed weekend, meaning we didn’t do a whole lot. The husband studied quite a bit and I got some cleaning done around the house. On Saturday I went to book club (I actually didn’t read the book…), but it was still a lot of fun. I look forward to those times just hanging out with other spouses. I learn a lot from them, and sometimes I feel like I have a little bit of a heads up on what’s coming up next in the husband’s schedule. A few of them are also in the teaching profession, so it’s great to talk to them about their experiences and get the scoop on finding a teaching job while our husbands are in this phase of training (that will be another post, for another time).
The Best Friend Comes to Town
As mentioned in an earlier post, the best friend got to visit us this past weekend! We picked her up Saturday afternoon and headed out to brunch at The Leisure Club ($2 mimosas? Yes, please!). We then headed into Alabama so she could mark visiting a new state off of her resolution list.
API
The husband took his first test in API this week and did great, although he tells me he could do better (he always does). I’m so proud of how hard he has been working to reach his goal of becoming a pilot. As I’m typing this, he is studying away (weather this time). I’m sure I’ll get to learn all about it tonight, since he has his test tomorrow. I’ve already learned so much about planes! I get the bigger picture, just maybe not all the terminology. It’s fun to study with him though, probably because I’m not the one having to take the test! Better him than me, he knows his stuff!
Star Wars & Puzzles
The best friend is going to be here in one week! I repeat, ONE WEEK! I could not be more excited that she is coming to visit us. We have another trip planned for July, but that one is much longer and we will be making our way down to Disney World (when in Florida!). Next weekend is for relaxing and catching up (I also hear margaritas and beach time calling our names)! February it’s Florida, and in March it’s back home to Missouri! We have a girl’s night planned with some of my favorite people, and I’ll be seeing some of my other favorites throughout the week! I’m very excited to get to see everyone and hang out with the family!
Welcome to the Club
I’ve officially made it into an extremely important club as a military wife. The name of the club you ask? Why it’s the “I Can Cut My Husband’s Hair” club of course! It doesn’t seem like such a big deal, but trust me, when you have to start fading in a haircut, it’s a big deal!
