Y’all, today was so much fun! (Before I continue, can I just point out that I live in the south now, and don’t feel at all “out of place” using the word “y’all”?) The husband and I went to the beach to take some fun photos (see below) even though it was freezing outside! I use the word freezing loosely because it was a whopping 50 degrees here as compared to the whopping 15 degrees it was back home in Missouri. For those of us who haven’t felt “cold” weather in months (around 9ish), it was pretty chilly! You know what they say though- chili today, hot tamale! (According to the husband, no one says that, but I’m fairly convinced they do!)
Until Next Time
The past three weeks have been a whirlwind! We said goodbye to the last of our family this morning and then kind of just crashed on the couch. Even though we had relaxing days and had a lot of fun with both families, there’s just something about hosting people that makes ya tired! It was definitely a blast to have our families come visit us for the holidays though, and for that we feel super blessed! Now that everyone is gone, it’s time for a date night with the husband! Nothing fancy, just dinner out. We had big plans to clean today so we could get it out of the way, but that’s not looking like it’s going to happen. Sunday’s are better days for that anyway…
Resolutions
Alright, so I kept up with my posts for, oh I don’t know, a week or two, and then I fell off the face of the blogging planet (again), because Christmas happened (and obviously the weeks leading up to Christmas, annnnnd those right after Christmas). I’m back now though, just no taking bets on how long it will last. It’s a new year and obviously one of my resolutions is to be an avid blogger (where have we heard that before?). It’s going to happen people!
Christmas in Florida
Today we found out that my whole side of the family gets to come visit us for Christmas! We were waiting on confirmation from one of my brothers and that got confirmed this morning. We are so excited to have everyone here in Florida with us in our new home! We have been working pretty hard to make sure everything is all set up and cozy when they get here. A little over a week until my brother arrives, and about two weeks before the rest of the family gets here. Christmas is going to be perfect this year! We have already started making a list of things we want to do with them, and places we want to take them to while they’re here. What started out as a suggestion has become a reality and we couldn’t be more thrilled!!
Christmas Decorations
Two posts in the same week?! Be impressed people. This week I’ve slowly started decorating for Christmas, and by that I mean, we’ve set up our Christmas tree and hung our stockings (I have so much more planned!). I also redid one of the three chalkboards I have displayed to match for this time of year. My “Hello Fall” sign just wasn’t cutting it. When I had originally set out to do some chalkboard art in the living room, I wanted it to be “Let It Snow”…then I thought about where I was. In Florida. Then it seemed silly to wish for snow in a place where it doesn’t snow. It has, however, been feeling more like winter around these parts. It’s sad when the “feels like” temperature in Florida is only 4 degrees off from the “feels like”/actual temperature in Missouri. I can’t complain though since it’s supposed to be in the 70’s again next week (perfection!).
