Last week, Hudson and I got to head to Savannah, GA to stay with good friends! We’ve been to Savannah a few times in the past and decided it was exactly what we needed to finish off September. We had a lot of fun exploring a few new places and enjoying a mini vacation!
Accomplished
Right before the husband deployed, I made a mental list of all of the things I wanted to accomplish when he was gone. Sweet, naive, pre-deployment me thought I’d have MORE time to get things done (you know, like at night instead of just watching TV on the couch with the husband). HA!
Onslow Beach
It’s not very often that I take Hudson to the beach. I know that he loves it, but the amount of work it takes to get him there, keep him safe while we’re there, and then get him all cleaned up is downright exhausting. That’s why we save the beach for “special occasions” in this season of life (i.e. the season of life where the husband isn’t home).
1.5 Years Old
It’s been a couple of days since Hudson turned one and a half, and like always, I’m trying to figure out how time went by so quickly. I can attest to the old saying that the days are long and the years (or weeks or months- really whatever you’re counting) are short, and lately the days have felt VERY long (hello separation anxiety and possible two year molars). Since we just hit the one and a half year mark though, I thought it would be a good time to share some of what Hudson is up to so I can look back and remember in a few years.
Deployment
As we are nearing the halfway mark of this deployment, I really just have one thing to say- y’all, deployments are hard (is anyone surprised?).
