As you may have read here, my resolution for the year is taking a photo of Hudson every day with my camera, not just my phone. I’m excited to say I’ve stuck with it and almost every day manage to get several photos of him that I absolutely love!
I won’t lie, some days I take “cheat” photos. As in, I will take a picture of the monitor (because I’ve decided that a real picture that day just wasn’t going to happen), or a photo of a photo. I’m going with it, because it’s still him and it’s still that day (as long as the photo I use is from the day). It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been so worth it!
I love seeing all of the pictures of him and it’s really showing me just how fast he’s growing! In just 5 short months, he looks so different! It makes me wish I’d been more diligent with taking photos with my camera last year when he was born (thank goodness for phone cameras though).
Last year, after Dad passed away, it was really hard to be in to photography. That was a thing we always did together and that’s where my passion for it stemmed from. It wasn’t that I didn’t like taking pictures still, it just felt different. Don’t get me wrong, I still get that photographers high when I take a picture I love, it just isn’t the same without sharing it with him. I know that he’d be proud of me though and that he would absolutely love all the pictures of his grandson, even if he’d say he could take a better picture!
I’m excited to see all of the pictures together when they’re done and I know it’ll be something I always treasure. Almost 5 months down and 7 to go!
