With the new year so close to ringing in, I started thinking about my New Year’s resolutions and decided to do something a little different this year. I feel like I make the same ones every year (you know, posting on the blog more, losing weight, etc.), but I never seem to fulfill them.  Instead, in 2019, I decided I’m going to focus on photography.

A couple of years ago I decided I was going to take a picture every day for a year. That lasted maybe 10 days into January before I abandoned ship (life was busy and I didn’t have a whole lot to take pictures of then). However, this year I’m going to be taking a picture of Hudson every day! I don’t just mean with my phone (though some of those turn out great), but instead, I’m going to get out my “real” camera every day to take quality pictures of him doing his thing.

Last week I randomly saw the husband’s camera bag downstairs and got the camera out to snap a couple of pictures of Hudson. Not only did I get some really cute shots (not hard with that handsome boy), but I also had a lot of fun! Hudson had a great time cheesing it up for the camera too!

I figured this would be a fun way to document the year and look back at how much he grows day by day. I also know the husband will be gone a lot next year so it’ll be a great way for him to feel more connected to us while he’s deployed or gone for training! Though I love staging photos for photo shoots, I also really love candid shots. Maybe having more of these will finally motivate me to print some for the house!
