Last week, Hudson and I got to head to Savannah, GA to stay with good friends! We’ve been to Savannah a few times in the past and decided it was exactly what we needed to finish off September. We had a lot of fun exploring a few new places and enjoying a mini vacation!
I think Hudson had the most fun swimming in the little pool Grandma Shell (as she is now referred to) set up in the backyard since the big pool was closed for the season. I think he was in the pool every day that we were there! He was also obsessed with the bath toy sea creatures, pirate ship (both in and out of the pool) and pulling grass into the pool to mix in with the water (he is a little boy after all).
The second day in Savannah, we got to visit Wormsloe Historic Site to get some fun pictures. This place was absolutely stunning and honestly, it was a photographer’s dream setting! So dreamy and southern! I think Hudson had more fun with the rocks and sticks, but I was still able to capture some cute pictures of him in his element, and also some with Grandma Shell!
On our last day there, we drove out to Jekyll Island to check out the Sea Turtle Center. Hudson walked away with a book (we try to get him one at new places we visit) and the softest sea turtle stuffed animal! He loves hugging it and saying, “Turtle!” over and over. After seeing the sea turtles, we thought we’d be able to snag some pictures on Driftwood Beach, but much to the dismay of Hudson (who had already seen the water), the tide was too high and not safe, so we headed to lunch and then back home (where he got to splash around in the pool again).
Hudson and I had such a wonderful time exploring some of what Savannah has to offer, and I’m so excited to share these places with the husband when we visit for Christmas!
