The husband and I moved to NC and into our beautiful new house at the end of August and took our sweet time making our house a home. By that I mean, we waited until the last possible minute to finish putting the downstairs together, and only got it done because we had friends over for Thanksgiving.
While the husband was an absolute good sport about the whole thing, I know it was probably pretty frustrating (i.e. annoying) for him to hear, “Hey, could you _____?” “Would you mind hanging _____?” “Would it be possible for you to just move ______?” “Any way you’d be willing to carry ______down the stairs for me?”, especially after working 12+ hours each day. It was also pretty frustrating for me to be in a state of constant reliance to be able to get our house done (okay, our downstairs- the upstairs is ALMOST finished) and to be THAT wife who was always asking him to help me out (pregnancy problems). Thank goodness for husbands who don’t complain…. (that much 😉 )…
I’m so excited that our downstairs is done now and that there are only a handful of things to do before the upstairs is complete (for the record, the nursery doesn’t count as upstairs right now…). I’ve had many people ask for pictures of our house, so for now, you’ll have to settle for seeing the downstairs.
I also want it noted that I’m not the Grinch! Christmas decorations are in the process of going up, so for now, just enjoy all the fall things! 🙂
